Lowndes will be there … so will Skaife, the Kelly brothers, Courtney, Whincup, Winterbottom, Murphy, Tander and Ingall.
It’s round one of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series and according to motor racing’s legendary Murray Walker, it’s the greatest touring car event in the world.
It’s the Clipsal 500 on Adelaide’s internationally acclaimed street circuit.
Four fabulous days of V8 Supercar action, four massive on-circuit concerts, air displays, beachwear parades, grid girls, on track stunts and displays and the best support race program in the nation. Simon Wills and Andrew Thompson have finished fastest on day one of the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide today. Wills took out session one with the fastest lap time of 1.25.8123, Thompson went more than a second quicker in the second session, stopping the clock at 1.24.5422. After winning the Phillip Island round last year, rising star Thompson has focussed on making a statement in 2007. I've done a lot of training to prepare for the heat here in Adelaide and I'm really looking forward to racing, Thompson said. Former V8 Supercar Championship Series driver Wills was happy to be at the top of the timesheet leading into Friday is qualifying races and race one. It's always good to be at the front of the field before qualifying,Wills said. Qualifying races and race one for the Fujitsu Series will be raced from 12:30pm today. |
