Sandown 500 changes dates
Latest News
Written by http://www.holdenmotorsport.com/

The 2006 Betta Electrical 500 at Sandown Raceway, Melbourne,
has been moved to September 1-3.
The three-day Event has been moved back one weekend from the original date to avoid conflict with the opening weekend of the AFL Finals Series.
Event Promoter International Management Group (IMG) has agreed to the change following the outcome of discussions with Network Ten to ensure live coverage of the Event is broadcast to fans nationally.

IMG Director of Motorsport, Ken Freer, said the need to change the date was a result of the V8 Supercar schedule conflicting with the opening weekend of the AFL Finals and Network Ten's commitment to broadcast both events live on the Sunday afternoon.
"We have agreed to change the event to the Father's Day weekend and apologise to fans that have been inconvenienced by the move," he said.
"We will make every effort to make the weekend something special and in particular add something irresistible for Dads and the family on the Sunday."
Tickets for the Even will go on sale shortly through Ticketmaster.

According to Auto Bild a 50,000 € Baby-Bugatti is coming, both in a coupè and a roadster version.
The engine would be based on the 2.0 liters Turbo-FSI engine of the Golf GTI / Audi TT. Before being mounted on a Bugatti, it'll get a nice HP injection: the first power-step should be 280 hp (2010), later it should go up to 320 hp (around 2015). The gearbox would be a 7-speed DSG, probably coupled to a 4WD system.

Finally, from e90post.com, some unmasked spyshots of the BMW 3-Series Coupè E92 unmasked. From the script on the trunk and the symmetric position of the exhaust tubes, it seems to be the 335i, with the new biturbo engine: 3 liters 6 cylinders inline, 306 hp.

The best profile seems to be the rear 3/4 one. It's less anonynomous than it seemed from previous spyshots.

Subaru-based kit car from Cornwall
Latest News
Written by http://www.channel4.com/4car/news

The Impreza-derived Prodrive P2 prototype - seen at the Autosport Show last year - may not be going into production, but another British company has seized the opportunity to develop a super-quick high-performance car based on Subaru running gear. Adrenaline Motorsport of Newquay, Cornwall, has developed a kit car it calls AMS1 on the underpinnings of 1992-2000 donor Imprezas; these are stripped out to weigh just 1980lbs, down from the original cars' 2970lbs. With the 2.0-litre, 260bhp engine, the AMS1 is good for 0-60mph in four seconds and a top speed of 150mph; an even quicker speedster version with no roof and a fly-screen in place of a windscreen will also be offered. Prices start from around £19,000, and delivery of cars to customers will start in the summer (thecarconnection.com).
